Hello,
I am a concerned Schweitzer Grove neighbor. We have had some issues surrounding our home and neighborhood involving disc golfers and others who pretend to use the course in order to party with their friends. Some of the recent and on-going issues include:
1. foul language
2. excessive smoking of marijuana and cigarettes
3. excessive drinking in open containers
4. rude behavior from golfers when trying to enjoy the park with my children
5. using the area behind my fence as a toilet. Feces, tampons and toilet paper have been found.
6. Most horrifying: two fires at the “stump” in the last two months where I had to call 911 in order to prevent the fire from spreading into the grove, my home and my neighbors homes.
7. Graffiti in multiple places in the park as well as my fence and neighbors fence. While it is hard to prove who is responsible, one marking on my neighbors fence says “mutha putters”.
8. Lingering at the launch behind our homes at all hours partnered with excessive partying.
9. Discs being launched directly at my home, front yard, vehicles, etc.
10. There are approximately 20 children within two blocks of my home. Most of which don’t use the park because who would feel comfortable letting their children play in such an environment?
11. Removal of the man-hole cover behind my neighbors home.
12. Many large and unleashed dogs.
13. Vehicles parking in front of fire hydrants as well as in front of the fire access points.
Because of the neighborhood’s dissatisfaction, we have contacted the parks and are hoping to arrange a meeting with the mutha putter head, the park manager and some concerned neighbors.
Please let me know if you would like to participate in the meeting.
Thanks for your time.
Your a piece of work who is costing 90% of the good people who do show up to play there a free quality good time, I have been going to the grove since I was 11 and am 30 now. Do you honestly think getting golfers kicked out of your neighborhood park will fix the solution? NO IT WONT BECAUSE ALL THE OFFENDERS ARE FROM YOUR STUPID NEIGHBORHOOD YOU MORON AND IT IS JUST WHAT HIGH SCHOOL KIDS DUE ANYWAY TO AVOID THEIR PARENTS: GO TO A PARK TO DRINK AND SMOKE AND TALK THE WAY THEY WANT. You should really think the ignorant things out before you condemn a whole populus on the actions of some”punk kids” in a park next to your house. OH AND BY THE WAY, DISC GOLFERS WOULD NOT START A FIRE TO PARTY AT NIGHT, WE DO NOT THROW AT NIGHT DUE TO SOMETHING CALLED THE DARK AND HOW IT CAUSES LIMITED VISIBILITY, DUMMY.
I am moving to the area in November and am looking to find out about the local league scene.
I will not have much control over my work schedule and knowing when events are played at the beginning might help me set a tone with my schedule.
I’m looking forward to playing the courses there. Nice website; I appreciate the high level of organization.
Thanks for any help,
Justin
The Mutha Putters need to stand up for their supposed park of 30 years and back/start/affiliate themselves with one of the few causes I’ve seen to save Schweitzer Grove, instead they take the cowards way out and submit like good little dogs and choose not to support anyone trying to keep the park open to golfers like me and my friends, but instead chose the neighborhood demand that disc gold ceases in “their park” due to some “punk kids” and their corrupt behaviors. I don’t like being punished for actions I don’t commit, AND WAY TO GO LEAVING YOUR CLUB NAME ON ONE OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD HOMES FENCING, THAT WAS REAL CLASSY. BUNCH OF DUMMIES.
